As an RN who works primarily with people who have had massive sudden changes in their lives, such as strokes, cancer, MS, Parkinson's, among many others, I find Lenny's story very helpful for healthcare professionals to be more responsive and understanding to their individual needs. It's difficult to give our patients the time and attention I think they all deserve and I wish I could change this. There are so many demands on the nurses and other staff that we often feel guilty about not providing more time just to be there and help patients with their emotional needs. I want to be more open and somehow find the time to help others through their difficuties and especially to find the words sometimes that would somehow make things alittle more bearable and offer alittle more hope. I will continue to follow this and the other stories and hope it will help me and others in my profession and wish Lenny the very best. You have a beautiful family and soul.
